Designing sustainable future – Silver Tsunami hits Europe

Beata Fabisiak, Department of Furniture Design, Poznań University of Life Sciences

The aging of societies changes the modern furniture industry. Noticing a user who is a senior or a person with a disability will soon become one of the key factors for a market success. Forecasts predict that in 2050 there will be more than 500,000 people aged over 100 years old living in Europe. The societies of European countries have never been in such a situation before. We face a huge challenge to redesign both private and public spaces in order to create more beautiful, more sustainable and more inclusive Europe. With the power of creativity we are able not only to meet this enormous challenge but also to transform it into an amazing business opportunity for the European companies.

11.10 - 11.45 CET

IP trends in Eurasia and US – why shall we look beyond the EU?

Rafał Malujda,  Rafał Malujda Law and Patent Office

It is not just Covid-19, Brexit and other unique phenomena that are driving the development of IP protection in contemporary design. Details that may be protected need to be fished out of the real and online world with particular care. During the meeting, we will talk about what was and is protected as design and what will be protected in the future. Such cream-de-la-cream of industrial design. Could this be of interest to You?
